Procedures Submit a Claim Transfer Your Warranty Cancel Your Warranty
  • Our client must immediately contact Guarantee V.C.’s Claim Department at 514.282.0089 or toll free at 1.800.361.7226.
  • He must have his Guarantee V.C. contract number on hand as well as the actual mileage on the odometer of the vehicle.
  • He also has to protect his vehicle against further damage (or against any aggravation of the problem).
  • For all verifications* and repairs, the client has to go to his usual repair shop with his Guarantee V.C. contract number. The repair shop must be licensed and have a valid permit, for all types of vehicles.
  • The repairs must be pre-authorized by Guarantee V.C.’s technical advisors on receipt of a written estimate (parts and labor) sent to us by fax or e-mail BEFORE** the repairs are being done.
  • A written authorization will be sent by fax or e-mail to the client’s repair shop.
  • All authorized repairs are paid directly to the client’s repair shop.

 

*   Documentation to substantiate the required maintenance services must be presented before claim approval. As well as for any warranty, the client must, as a consumer, demonstrate that proper maintenance services were performed on his vehicle. Thus, all maintenance services must be performed as per the terms and conditions of the Guarantee V.C.'s Contract. It is important to keep a maintenance file for the vehicle. This will allow a fast settlement of the claims.

 

** Guarantee V.C. reserves the right to refuse any repairs submitted after they have been done.

- Automobile:

  • If all the conditions have been fulfilled, Guarantee V.C.’s warranty, if still in force, can only be transferred to the next/second owner of the guaranteed vehicle but not to the following vehicle of the initial owner.
  • If the guaranteed vehicle is sold or given in exchange to a dealer, rental agency and/or any company that sells vehicles, if the dealer agrees, the warranty can be transferred to the next buyer; for personal or commercial purpose (will have to be specified).
  • While the vehicle is the property of the dealer, the warranty will not be interrupted;the length and ending date of the contract will remain the same.
  • Guarantee V.C.’ warranty is transferable only once.

 

If the transfer is between two people:

  • Following the name transfer at the registration services, the new owner has 10 business days to communicate with us and send us certain documents by ordinary or express mail.                                       
  • The new owner must send us a postal money order of $75.00 plus applicable taxes, in the name of Garantie V.C. to cover the transfer fees.
  • He also has to send us a photocopy of the first page of the previous owner’s Guarantee V.C. contract (if he does not have it, only write down the contract number and name of the previous owner on a blank sheet of paper).
  • He must also enclose, a very good photocopy of his driver’s license and his new plate certificate for the transferred vehicle.
  • On this same sheet, he must write down his whole address and phone number(s) for us to be able to reach him.
  • The new owner also has to write down the odometer reading of the vehicle at the date of the transfer at the registration services.

 

If the transfer is requested by a dealer:

  • Following the name transfer at the registration services, the new owner and/or dealer has 10 business days to communicate with us and send us certain documents by fax (only if the dealer sells Guarantee V.C. warranties) or by ordinary or express mail.
  • To pay the transfer fees, the amount of $75.00 plus applicable taxes will be charged directly to the dealer’s account with us (if they do not have one, they have to send us a postal money order or a company cheque of $75.00 plus applicable taxes in the name of Garantie V.C.).
  • He also has to send us a photocopy of the first page of the previous owner’s Guarantee V.C. contract (if he does not have it, only write down the contract number and name of the previous owner on a blank sheet of paper).
  • For us to have the complete owner’s information (address, telephone and odometer), the dealer will have to send us the sales contract of the vehicle by fax (or by mail depending on the payment mode).

 

 

- Leisure and Recreational Vehicles:

  • If all the conditions have been fulfilled, Guarantee V.C.’s Service Agreement, if still in force, can only be transferred to the next/second owner of the guaranteed vehicle but not to the following vehicle of the initial owner.
  • If the guaranteed vehicle is sold or given in exchange to a dealer, rental agency and/or any company that sells vehicles and if the dealer agrees, the Service Agreement can be transferred to the next buyer; for personal or commercial purpose (will have to be specified).
  • While the vehicle is the property of the retailer, the warranty will not be interrupted; the length and ending date of the contract will remain the same.
  • Guarantee V.C.’s Service Agreement is transferable only once.

 

If the transfer is between two people:

  • Following the name transfer at the registration services, the new owner has 30 days to communicate with us and send us certain documents by ordinary or express mail.

The owner of a Guarantee V.C.’s warranty has 30 days following the purchase to cancel his contract.

 

Since we do not sell our product directly to consumers, the owner has to:

  • Contact the salesman at the dealer who sold him the warranty and ask him to communicate with us to request the cancellation of the contract.
  • The first page of the Guarantee V.C. contract indicating “Cancel’’ and the reason for the cancellation on it must be sent to us by mail or by fax as soon as possible ($100.00 cancelation fees).
  • The reimbursement of the warranty will be made in proportion to the present odometer reading or the date of cancellation (the farthest eventuality), les the cancellation fees.
  • If a claim has been authorized and/or paid under the warranty, there will be no reimbursement.
